Wyoming’s 2010 Football Recruiting Class

One word sums up my thoughts on Wyoming’s 2010 football recruiting class: Impressive. With only a short time to put together last year’s class, coach Dave Christensen made the most of it with 12 true freshmen making significant contributions during last season. Give him and his staff a whole year and we get what was officially announced today at the Rochelle Athletics Center in Laramie – a class that at first glance looks to have a lot of athletic ability and speed. This years class consists of players from 13 states and three foreign countries with 17 high school recruits and 6 junior college transfers. A total of 13 offensive players, 9 defensive players and one “athlete” round out the class.

The Cowboy’s needed the most improvement at offensive line, defensive line, and wide receiver. To address this, it signed five offensive linemen, five defensive linemen, and four wide receivers. Of the 14 from those positions, five are junior college transfers and look to make major contributions in the fall.

The class will officially consist of 23 new players as Gregory Barksdale (S 6-2 205 Crete Monee H.S. (IL)) signed with Northern Illinois University and former walk-on defensive lineman Patrick Mertens earned a scholarship.

Below you will find some video of Wyoming’s recruiting class along with the official list of recruits.
