Wyoming Athletics Links of the Week – 4/29/12

This week’s focus is on Wyoming spring football.   The tradition continued as the Pokes finished off spring camp with the annual Brown and Gold game.  Check out the video below courtesy of Wyoming Athletics.  Also, check out some of the opinions about where the team sits after the completion of spring camp.

– Get Wyoming Tribune Eagle sports editor Robert Gagliardi’s thoughts on Wyoming’s 2012 Spring football game and who he thinks should start at QB for the Pokes in the fall.

– What did we learn about the Pokes following spring camp?  Casper Star Tribune staff writer Eric Schmoldt shares his thoughts.

-We all know this year’s opening opponent; that’s right the Texas Longhorns.  The Bleacher Report shares Texas Football’s 5 Most Important Post-Spring dates and who they think will win opening weekend.  But we know they’re wrong.

-The 2012 NFL Draft was held this week with no Wyoming Cowboys being drafted.  However, a few signed as free-agents with teams, including Brian Hendricks with the Washington Redskins,  Tashaun Gipson with the Cleveland Browns and Alvester Alexander with the Chicago Bears. 

-Finally, Pokes basketball signed a transfer from the University of Alabama this week.  Charles Hankerson Jr. will sit out a year due to NCAA transfer rules and will have two years of eligibility with the Cowboys.
