The Pokes are back in Laramie this weekend for Homecoming after two weeks away from The War. They return having gone 1-1 on the road trip, winning against a Toledo team that beat a Big-Ten team in Purdue this season and losing to another top-five ranked opponent, TCU. The magic number for the Pokes at this point is four. They must win four of the remaining six games to become bowl eligible. That won’t be an easy task this weekend as they welcome in the #11 ranked team in the nation, the Utah Utes. However, after Utah, Wyoming schedule gets a bit easier as they will play BYU, San Diego State, New Mexico, UNLV and CSU. The Cowboys can’t look past this weekend though. I have a hunch that the Cowboys will play well this weekend and may even have a chance to come away with an upset victory. Why? Well, let’s look back at week 4. The Pokes were coming off two decisive loses handed to them by Texas and Boise State. Air Force was on their way to Laramie and nobody, I mean nobody, was giving Wyoming a chance to win. What did the Pokes do? They came to play and if it wasn’t for two plays in that game probably would have come away with a win. Fast forward a couple weeks and Wyoming is coming off another large defeat against a top-five team. Once again the Cowboys are being overlooked and I believe this time they may strike. Plus, it’s Homecoming (will the Pokes bust out the old school unis?) and ACS is back. Hey Utah, don’t look past the Cowboys. Oh yeah, sayonara Utah, hope you enjoy the Pac-10!
