Wyoming fans might pay a little closer attention to the Cleveland Browns defense this NFL season as former Cowboy’s standout cornerback Tashaun Gipson was named the Browns starting free safety last week. Gipson started all 50 games in his four-year career with the Pokes and had nine career interceptions which tied for fourth in school history.
“My mindset is not going to change just ‘cause I am the starter. It doesn’t mean I’m going to relax on my craft,” Gipson told the Akron Beacon Journal. “I’m going to continue to try to get better each day. I’m going to continue to grind out there like I’m competing for my job.”
Gipson signed with the Browns in the spring of 2012 as an undrafted free agent. He played in ten games in 2012, starting three and made 26 solo tackles.
